Event information

This event is a community forum focused on housing and financial stress. Kathleen Matthews‑Ward MP, Member for Broadmeadows, will open the event, followed by a moderated panel discussion with representatives from Northern Community Legal Centre, Mortgage Stress Victoria, and local housing support providers.

Panellists will share practical information about the legal rights of renters and homeowners, outline common challenges experienced within the community, and discuss the support options currently available. The discussion will then open to audience Q&A, giving attendees the opportunity to ask questions, raise concerns, and contribute to broader discussion about housing security and access to justice.

Information about local services and pathways to further assistance will also be provided.

The event is designed for community members who are experiencing, or at risk of, housing or financial stress, as well as advocates, service providers, and others seeking to better understand housing rights in Victoria. Attendees can expect practical legal information, connections to relevant local services, and an opportunity to engage directly with speakers about housing‑related issues affecting the community.
