Event information

This free webinar provides an opportunity to learn about Victoria’s Portable Long Service Benefits Scheme in a simple and practical way.

In Australia, long service leave is usually earned by working with the same employer over a long period. In Victoria, people working in the community services, contract cleaning, or security sectors may also be able to build up portable long service benefits when changing jobs. Portable long service means benefits are based on time worked in an industry rather than with a single employer.

The session will explain how the Scheme works, who it covers, and what it may mean for participants. It will also outline possible next steps, such as checking work history online and understanding employer requirements.

This session is designed for workers, employers, and anyone seeking a clearer understanding of how the Scheme operates. Information will be presented in plain language, with time allowed for questions.

Participants will leave with a better understanding of their entitlements and obligations, and the steps involved in registering with the Scheme.
