Event information

This session is a valuable opportunity for people involved in managing or supporting sporting clubs, incorporated associations, and not‑for‑profit organisations to better understand their legal responsibilities.

The presentation will cover common compliance and governance issues that committees and boards may face, including:

  • Common compliance issues for volunteer organisations
  • Legal requirements relating to model rules
  • Reporting obligations to Consumer Affairs Victoria
  • Dispute resolution procedures and obligations

The session is designed to provide practical, easy‑to‑understand information to help volunteers feel confident in their roles and ensure organisations meet their legal obligations.

This session will be presented by Jaime Rodrick (Senior Associate) and Emily Cordingley (Senior Associate) from Morrison & Sawers, who will share their experience working with community organisations and answer questions throughout the session.

This event is suitable for current committee members, board members, volunteers, and anyone considering involvement in managing a community, sporting, or not‑for‑profit organisation.
