Event information

Join us for a poignant walk through local history, where the lives behind the headstones are brought vividly to light. You’ll hear the story of three young boys who tragically drowned in Gardiners Creek, a young girl whose simple errand ended in heartbreak, and a jockey whose life was lost in a racing accident.

These are just some of the many lives remembered - each full of promise, each ending far too soon. As you move through the cemetery, you’ll learn about the events that shaped these stories and the community that mourned them.

This walk offers a reflective and moving experience, inviting you to connect with the past and honour those whose stories might otherwise be forgotten.

We will meet at the office of Brighton General Cemetery, enter via the front gate on North Road.
