Event information
This session has been developed in response to recent allegations of child sexual offences in Victorian childcare settings, which have deeply affected many children, families, and communities. These events have also highlighted the broader prevalence of child sexual abuse across Victoria and the need for clear, accessible information about legal rights and available support.
The session provides an opportunity to hear from experienced professionals about the legal and support pathways available to survivors of child sexual abuse and their supporters. Topics will include reporting options, financial assistance and compensation pathways, and available support services. Information will cover options such as the Victims of Crime Financial Assistance Scheme, the National Redress Scheme, and civil claim processes.

This session is open to survivors, family members, supporters, and anyone seeking to better understand available legal and support options. Information will be presented in plain language, with time set aside for questions.
This session will cover potentially distressing topics relating to child sexual abuse. Participants are not required to share personal experiences. Support workers will be available throughout.
