The Yoorrook Justice Commission invites you to be part of the Walk for Truth from Portland to Parliament.

The walk, led by Yoorrook’s Deputy Chair Commissioner Travis Lovett, will start on Sunday 25 May in Portland and finish at Parliament House on Wednesday 18 June.

The 25-day journey will take in communities including Warrnambool, Colac, Geelong and Footscray, while visiting sites of cultural and historical significance for First Peoples.

Along the way there will be opportunities for all Victorians to join sections of the Walk and attend events.

The journey aims to bring everyone together to walk toward truth, celebrate the strength and resistance of Aboriginal people, and be proud to have the oldest living culture in the world as ours.

As Victoria’s first formal truth-telling process, over the past four years Yoorrook has heard powerful truths from people right across the state..

These truths form the basis of Yoorrook's final reports, documenting the past and providing a roadmap to transform the future.

The walk will be a powerful way to build shared understanding of these truths, talking together about our history, while walking together to transform our future. For First Peoples and for all Victorians.
