The Wills, Power of Attorney and Respecting Elders information session will be presented by an expert Lawyer from the Gippsland Community Legal Service and Jacqui Brown from Better Place Australia’s’ Respecting Elders Program.
This session will cover information regarding how you can approach making your Will, including information about Power of Attorney. The session will also examine what is involved in Guardianship and Administration law, and how it can be acted on by family members wanting to support their loved one suffering from loss of decision-making capacity.
To counter potential problems emerging within families grappling with these difficult decisions, Jacqui Brown will discuss the Respecting Elders program, which supports older community members to retain dignity and agency through supported preservation of family relationships, while allowing all parties to reach resolution and promote better outcomes for future decision making.
This session will also include the Gippsland Family Law Pathways Network information kiosk which provides referral pathway information to a host of Gippsland Family Law and Community Services.
Light catering provided.
